It was such a joy to capture these sweet memories of this new chapter in my client’s lives! I really don’t think that I can pick a favorite set! Each one was styled so beautifully in our Quad Cities studio. I always love to include neutrals since they are so timeless and create wall art that coordinates with all of your home decor. A pop of color is a must as well! Since this mama will be having another baby girl we had to do some sweet mommy & me sets. It feels like it was just yesterday when I was capturing Italy’s very first pregnancy and her baby girl’s newborn session. Now her little girl is turning into a big sister! Welcoming a new baby is a beautiful milestone but for families in the middle of that transition it’s also a season filled with big emotions, especially for the child who is about to become an older sibling. This maternity session was more than a celebration of pregnancy. It was a heartfelt reminder that before a baby arrives a family is already growing in love and a little girl is stepping into her new role as well as a wonderful and loving big sister!
All the focus shifts a bit into preparing to meet baby and their arrival but there are so many ways to include them in the anticipation. Pregnancy brings excitement but it can also bring uncertainty for young siblings, especially when they have been the only child. They may not fully understand what’s coming only that life is about to feel different. Maternity photos with siblings is one way for them to experience embracing and loving on your belly while still having one on one time with you. I love to include siblings into maternity sessions and make them feel special! Most of the time they don’t know how to feel about the session but it doesn’t take very long before they are having the time of their lives and most don’t want to leave the Quad Cities studio, especially girls! Matching gowns with mommy is so much fun!
Which is your favorite set?! I personally would not be able to pick! They are all darling and memories to cherish a lifetime.
